Along this buzzing tree-lined boulevard, packed with outdoor cafes and a carnival atmosphere, are a number of key Barcelona attractions. From Miro’s mosaic under your feet, to the famed Liceu Theatre and vibrant La Boqueria food market selling everything from black eels to freshly squeezed juices, you won’t need to wander too far from the apartment for a taste of Spanish life.

A few streets east, and you’ll find yourself in the heart of the Barri Gothic – a labyrinth of small streets and picturesque squares full of churches, cafes, bars and shops. Sitting on top of the remains of Barcelona’s Roman origins, this is perfect place for history buffs and culture critics to soak up the city’s past and present.

SHOP: L’Arca: Banys Nous, a street well-known as a go-to destination for antiques, is also where you can find the beautiful dress shop/theatrical wardrobe L’Arca (formerly L’Arca del Avia). From thirties flapper dresses to art nouveau jewellery and lace wedding gowns, the store is a carefully curated mix of vintage pieces. It has also attracted attention for hiring out costumes for blockbusters Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Perfume and Titanic, some of which can be seen displayed at the front of the shop.
